Steel celebrates roughly 12 years since Yann Novak relaunched his father’s record label Dragon’s Eye Recordings with a compilation of unreleased tracks from some of the label’s recent additions, newcomers, and mainstays. Named after the traditional eleventh anniversary gift (due to miscalculation and a love for the cover art delivered by Jake Muir), Steel resurrects Dragon’s Eye’s celebrated free anniversary compilation series. As it weaves its way through a variety of styles, processes, practices, techniques, and most importantly points of view, Steel illustrates the radical diversity that has become the signature sound of Dragon’s Eye Recordings.
