This sound work weaves together recordings from a wide range of environments — some real, others imagined or reconstructed, and still others liminal or peripheral — to shape a non-linear temporal dimension. Each space is selected or crafted for its acoustic qualities, its evocative potential, and the kind of relationship it can establish with the listener. It is also conceived as an architectural element capable of shaping both perceptual and temporal experience.

Silence, which underpins several parts of the composition, is not an absence but a latent presence — a tension, a threshold of listening, an active interval. The sound architecture of these tracks and their placement along the timeline challenge and probe our capacity to dwell within a specific sonic environment and to perceive — or not — its resonant effect on what follows. Thresholds become points of passage and suspension, transitional moments between distinct perceptual states, between immersion and detachment, recognition and ambiguity.

Through the modulation of distances, resonances, and thresholds between inside and outside, between the real and the imagined, the piece offers an experience of crossing through different states of memory. Each sonic environment acts as an echo that refracts into the next, contaminating it, altering its perception, and generating emotional interference, unexpected contrasts, or lingering traces.
