"Nucleazione" is an online project intended to be an extension and a fundamental part of my recent work "Un Fiocco Di Neve", released for my label 901 Editions. The central concern in this project is to offer an expanded notion of composition as well as an alternative and ever-changing experience of the album, which was born in a later stage to crystallise a continually developing material. In this intimate space, listeners can explore their paths to my sounds autonomously, and experiment with the non-linear creation of compositions with no predetermined beginning or end. Sound files presented here are subject to change without prior notice, making the experience even more unpredictable.

Nucleazione (the Italian word for Nucleation) is the initial process that occurs in the formation of a crystal from a solution, a liquid, or a vapour, in which a small number of ions, atoms, or molecules become arranged in a pattern characteristic of a crystalline solid, forming a site upon which additional particles are deposited as the crystal grows. Snowflakes nucleate around organic particles in moisture-saturated, subfreezing air masses by attracting supercooled water droplets, which freeze in hexagonal-shaped crystals. Snowflakes take on a variety of shapes, basic among these are platelets, needles, columns and rime. Nucleation is usually a stochastic (random) process and involves self-assembly or self-organization processes.
